BUSINESS TAXES, LICENSES & REGULATIONS INFORMATION

The Lawndale Municipal Code (LMC) requires every person engaged in any business operating within the City to be properly licensed, as well as to be in accordance with the standards for Planning (zoning), Building and Fire Safety, and Public Health.

After your business tax application has been processed, you will be issued a receipt of business registration (deposit only subject to approval). All business license/tax certificates are issued for a calendar year and expire December 31st of each year.

OPERATING A BUSINESS WITHOUT BUSINESS TAX CERTIFICATE IS A MISDEMEANOR!

This office does not issue Fictitious Business Name Statement. To obtain a Fictitious Business Name Statement filing, contact the Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Office in the County of the principal place of business. For a business to be conducted in an unincorporated area of the County, contact the Los Angeles County Business License office at (213) 974-0093.

BY FILING LA COUNTY FICTITIOUS BUSINESS NAME STATEMENT DOES NOT take the place of the City of Lawndale Business License Tax Application.
