The Lawndale community is provided professional public safety services by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, South Los Angeles station, under the leadership of Captain Nicole Palomino.


DON'T BE A VICTIM OF THEFT FROM VEHICLES - FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE RULES:
1) Don't leave valuables inside your car, such as a purse, wallet, laptop computer, gym bag, money, jewelry, Ipod, or camera;
2) Don't remove GPS tracking devices and related accessories from your car;
3) Close & lock car doors. Activate the alarm. Roll up windows.

As a professional law enforcement agency, the sheriff's department appreciates and depends on any information that the public is able to provide. It is through partnerships with the people it serves that the department builds trust and improves public safety. You can partner with the sheriff's department to keep crime down. It's simple. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT OFFICERS/TEAM

For long term, on-going, or special community problems the citizens of Lawndale are able to contact one of the four Special Assignment Officers to help resolve the problem. This Team works closely with businesses and residents to address local safety concerns with proactive approaches to solving problems. The City of Lawndale is divided into four quadrants with a Special Assignment Officer assigned to each section, which are as follows:

LAWNDALE SHERIFF'S CENTER - STRATEGIC GOALS:

  • Integration of the Special Assignment Officers into the Neighborhood Watch program.

  • Expand the visibility and delivery of services of the Community Oriented Policing Program.

  • Expand the bicycle patrol program focusing on residential and commercial areas.

  • Implement the Neighborhood and Business Watch Programs.

  • Maintain the overall reduction of crime in the City of Lawndale.

  • Assist the City of Lawndale with the development of a school traffic circulation program.

The Lawndale Sheriff's Center provides the City of Lawndale with general law enforcement services; field patrol deputies, supervision, and traffic services. Specialized services such as; Detective Bureau, Narcotics Bureau, Commercial Crimes Bureau, Family Crimes Bureau, Special Weapons Teams, and other such services are provided to the City of Lawndale by South Los Angeles Station and/or other Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department resources.

The Lawndale Sheriff's Center staff includes the Lawndale Area Managing Lieutenant, Supervising Sergeants, Operations Staff, the Special Assignment Team, Traffic Investigations office, Gang Detective, School Resource Officers, and all Field Patrol Deputies assigned to the City of Lawndale.
