lk CITY CONSIDERS MEASURE "L" TO MAINTAIN CURRENT LEVELS OF PUBLIC SAFETY
The City of Lawndale has placed Measure "L" on the Novermber 6, 2018 ballot to let the voters decide whether they would like to increase the local sales tax by ¾ of a cent per dollar which would bring in approximately $2.1 million per year. The City currently enjoys a high-level of public safety as well as parks programs and the passing of this measure would directly aid in maintaining current levels of public safety and parks programming. lk METRO GREEN LINE EXTENSION PROJECT
Upcoming Public Meetings:
Planning & Programming Cmte.– September 19th @ 2 p.m.
Board of Directors Meeting– September 27th @ 9:30 a.m.


The Metro Planning Committee will be looking at two routes through Lawndale – (1) Manhattan Beach Blvd. & Inglewood Ave. and (2) Hawthorne Boulevard.

At the Metro Board of Directors meeting, the full Metro Board is expected to discuss and review preferred routes through Lawndale.

lk City Commissioned Survey - Results
A recently commissioned independent survey shows Lawndale residents overwhelmingly support maintaining key local city safety services. The recent study concluded that Lawndale residents have a general favorable opinion of the City and how it is being run. Due to the favorable current levels of service, the City Council has placed a measure on the November 6, 2018 ballot to let the public decide if it would like to raise the current sales tax rate by ¾ of a cent for every dollar in an effort to continue the current level of service. An upcoming collection is being held in Lawndale on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Lawndale High School, Lloyde Parking Lot 14901 S. Inglewood Avenue, Lawndale.
