INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITY
APPLY FOR A CITY ADVISORY BODY
Would you like to get more involved in the community? The mayor and City Council will make appointments to city advisory bodies in February. Those appointed will serve for two years, beginning March 1, 2023.
- Planning Commission (5 members) - Recommends plans for regulating future growth and development of the city with respect to buildings, streets, parks, and vacant lots
- Parks, Recreation & Social Services Commission (5 members) - Advises City Council on the recreational, social, and human services needs of the community
- Beautification Committee (7 members) - Recognizes people for improving the appearance of Lawndale homes and businesses and sponsors Clean-Up Week
- Senior Citizen Advisory Committee (12 members) - Provides information and advice regarding the unique needs of our senior residents
- Personnel Board (5 members) - Conducts hearings and recommends actions related to personnel matters
