  • Enforcing quarantine laws on bite animals
  • Providing traps for nuisance animals

  • Investigating animal cruelty complaints

Animal Licensing Information

  1. All dogs over the age of 4 months are required to be vaccinated for rabies and licensed for the City of Lawndale.
  2. The rabies vaccination is mandatory before issuance of a dog license. The vaccination can not expire before license.
  3. All spayed and neutered dogs are given a 50% discount with proof of sterilization.
  4. The license period is from July 1 through June 30, and is renewal each year.
  5. The fees are :

    Unaltered dog $20.00
    Altered dog $10.00

    Senior citizen discount (1 dog per household) 50%

    A late fee of 50% of the license fee is charged after August 1

In 1998, the City of Lawndale Animal Control Division was formed to provide quality animal care and control to the community. Since then we have been dedicated to increasing public awareness on responsible pet ownership and assisting the residents with any of their animal related problems.
