DESCRIPTION
The mission of the Community Services division is to promote
quality programs that strive to meet the diverse needs of
the community, while advocating a positive environment,
the development of character, and physical and mental wellness,
to improve the quality of life. The services provided allow
community members to participate in a safe and friendly
environment with a balance of recreation, social activities
and human services.
TYPICAL
TASKS
Promote the sense of community through the administration
of community wide events including the: Halloween Haunt,
State of the City/Mayor's Breakfast, Angel Tree Lighting
Ceremony, Volunteer/Sponsor Recognition, Youth in Government
Day, Youth Day Parade, Memorial Day Breakfast, and Tiny
Tot Graduation. Administer departmental contracts and services:
Fixed-route transit, MAX Commuter, and Special Transit services.
Seek and administer grants and funding opportunities, including
sponsorships of City programs and events. Operate the McKenzie
Gardens.
