No person shall operate any bicycle on any street, road, highway or other public property within the jurisdiction of the city unless such bicycle is licensed in accordance with Division 16.7 of the California Vehicle Code and the provisions of this chapter or other applicable licensing requirements of the jurisdiction in which the person resides. Any resident who purchases or otherwise acquires possession of a bicycle shall, within ten days of taking possession of a bicycle, obtain a bicycle license. (Prior code § 4-2)
