A. It shall be the duty of the public works director to install and maintain all official traffic control devices, markings, signs and signals required by the vehicle code, this chapter, the city council, city manager, chief of police, city engineer and other officers of the city of Lawndale pursuant to the authority as granted herein.
B. It shall be the duty of the public works director to serve as the superintendent of streets with the rights, powers and duties as imposed by the city, under the provisions of the Streets and Highways Code.
C. Whenever the public works director is required or authorized by the chief of police, city engineer, city council or other official of authority, to install, place or maintain official traffic control devices, signals, signage, or pavement markings, he or she may cause such devices, signals or markings to be placed or maintained.
