Chapter 9.36 MISCELLANEOUS OFFENSES
9.36.090 Vendors near schools.
A. No person shall peddle, hawk or vend ice cream,
confectionery or any other kind of goods within five hundred feet of the
property line of any public or private school grounds within the city between
the hours of eight a.m. and five p.m. of each day that any school thereon is in
session.
B. This section does not apply to:
1. Merchants having stores within such prohibited districts,
as to sales made within the store buildings;
2. Vendors peddling vegetables, fruits or other such wares
solely to householders or business establishments;
3. Delivery wagons soliciting or delivering goods solely to
householders or business establishments within such district;
4. Any parent-teacher association, or committee thereof, or
similar organization, as to activities conducted wholly on school grounds with
the approval of the school authorities. (Prior code § 14-26)
