5.24.120 Locksmith.

A. Records. Every locksmith must make and keep such records as required by California Penal Code Sections 466.6 and 466.8. In addition, every locksmith shall keep the following records:
1. Name, address, phone number, date of birth, and driver's license or I.D. number of every person for whom a key is made on site by code and number;
2. Name, address, phone number, date of birth, and driver's license or I.D. number of every person for whom a locked building, structure, house or store, whether vacant or occupied, is opened and a key provided therefor.
B. Inspection. All records kept by any locksmith shall be made available for inspection by the law enforcement agency upon request.
C. Stamping of Keys Made. It is unlawful for any locksmith to fail to stamp the serial number of his permit upon any key made, repaired, sold or given away by such locksmith. (Ord. 812-96 § 14; prior code § 11-130)
