All trash collection in Lawndale, both residential and commercial, will be handled by Consolidated Disposal Service beginning January 1. In response to inquiries from the public, the City has compiled a list of frequently asked questions and the answers to them. Click the heading above to read these FAQs.

Holiday Schedule

Consolidated Disposal will be closed for business on the following holidays:

New Year’s Day
Memorial Day
4th of July
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

If the holiday falls on a weekday, services will be delayed by one day for the route that falls on that day only. Your regular schedule will resume the following week. There is no interruption in service if the holiday is on a Saturday or Sunday.

For example: If the holiday falls on Thursday, then Thursday services will be provided on Friday together with Friday services.

Important Information

  • Prevent Missed Collections: In order to ensure that trash, recyclables and green waste are collected, please have containers to the curb no later than 6am.
  • Additional Benefits Provided by Consolidated Disposal Service:


    • Bulky Item Pickup – Single-Family Dwelling Unit Customers are entitled to an unlimited number of collections, with a maximum of four items per pickup, or up to 20 bags of yard waste for no additional charge. Items will be collected on the customer’s regular collection day. Please call Consolidated Disposal at (800) 299-4898 48 hours in advance of your regularly scheduled collection day to schedule your bulky item collection.
    • Used Oil Recycling – Customers may dispose of up to three one-gallon containers of used motor oil weekly. Service will occur in conjunction with regular Recyclable Materials collection. Used oil containers must be tightly sealed, and filters must be completely drained and placed in a sealable zip lock bag. Consolidated Disposal Service will provide containers upon request, or individuals may pick up containers from the City’s Public Works Office at 4722 Manhattan Beach Blvd.
