OVERVIEW

The City of Lawndale has three parks and the Frank Hogan Tot Lot. Jane Addams, William Green and Roger-Anderson parks each have a baseball field, a basketball court and playground equipment. In 2001 a gymnasium was also opened for joint use by the City and the Elementary School District.

Jane Addams Park (5.5 acres)

Jane Addams Park is centrally located in the heart of Lawndale. The park is the home field for both Lawndale Little League and Lawndale Youth Football. The park offers year round after-school drop-in programming, year round Tiny Tot classes for kids age 3 to 5 years and a variety of organized youth programs. The park operates a free wading pool during the summer.

Jane Adams Park has a meeting room, two lighted Little League baseball fields, a lighted basketball court, wading pool, picnic facilities, two playgrounds for pre-school and elementary aged children and two horseshoe pits.

The newly refurbished William Green Park boasts a state of the art athletic field with engineered sports turf and computerized field lighting. The park offers year round after-school drop-in programming and a variety of organized youth programs. The park operates a free wading pool during the summer.

William Green Park features a multi-use meeting room with TV-DVD and kitchenette facilities, a lighted Little League baseball field, four lighted basketball courts, a wading pool, picnic facilities, two playgrounds for pre-school and elementary aged children and two horseshoe pits.

Rogers/Anderson Park (7.7 acres)

Rogers/Anderson Park is the largest of the City of Lawndale parks and ideal for the weekend athlete. It features large open spaces, a soccer field, a 400-meter running track, two baseball fields, six basketball courts, playground and picnic facilities. The park offers year round after-school drop-in programming, a variety of organized youth programs and is home to the Peanut Sports Leagues for kids ages 4 to 7 years old.


Frank Hogan Tot Lot (1.0 acres)

The Frank Hogan Tot Lot is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and is an ideal site for the pre-school child to enjoy a day at the park. The park features a playground for pre-school aged children with an adjacent covered picnic area and large open lawn.

 

Bollinger Memorial Gym

Bollinger Memorial Gym is the newest recreational facility in Lawndale. It features a regulation size basketball court and two practice courts. The gym offers year round basketball leagues for youth and adults as well as the Lawndale Basketball Academy instructional program for youth. The gym is also home to the City’s Teen program and hosts dances, sports leagues and tournaments as well as the daily teen programs in a variety of activities.

The gym also has a kitchen, conference room, meeting room, game room with a pool table, foosball tables, a ping pong table, Sony Playstation II, radio/CD player, and TV/VCR/DVD.
