Dog Licensing Information
- All dogs over the age of 4 months are required to be vaccinated for rabies and licensed by the City of Lawndale.
- The rabies vaccination is mandatory before issuance of a dog license. The vaccination can not expire before the end of the licensing period.
- With proof of sterilization, owners qualify for a 50% discount for all spayed and neutered dogs.
- Senior citizens receive a 50% discount for one dog per household.
- The license period is from July 1 through June 30, and is renewed each year.
The fees are:
Unaltered dog $20.00
Altered dog $10.00
- A late fee of 50% of the license
fee is charged after August 1.

In 1998, the City of Lawndale Animal Control Division was formed to provide quality animal care and control to the community. Since then we have been dedicated to increasing public awareness of responsible pet ownership and assisting the residents with animal-related problems.
