City
of Lawndale Elections
The City of Lawndale
conducts its general municipal election in April of every even-numbered
year solely for city offices and measures. In other words, voters
are asked to elect only City officials or to vote on city measures.
Offices and issues related to other jurisdictions, such as school
districts and the county, state or federal government, are voted
upon in separate elections administered by the County of Los Angeles
Registrar-Recorder. City officials are elected at-large; there are
no districts. All offices are non-partisan.
City
Elected Officials
Elective offices
are: 1) a mayor whose term is two years, 2) four councilmembers,
each elected for four year terms on a staggered schedule, and 3)
a city clerk whose term is four years.
