The Beautification Committee was created by the City Council in 1990 by resolution.  This ten-member committee meets once per month.  Beautification Committee members serve without compensation, but may receive reimbursement for certain expenses.  A member of the Municipal Services Department staff serves as staff representative.

The purposes of the Beautification Committee, as described in the City Council resolution which created the committee in 1990, are as follows:

A.       Sponsor a "Clean Up Week" activity;

B.         Sponsor a Christmas decoration competition;

C.        Sponsor a program of awards for recognition of homes with significantly improved appearances;

D.        Sponsor a program of awards for recognition of businesses with significantly improved appearances;

E.         Develop a beautification program in conjunction with City-sponsored community functions; and

F.         Any other purposes which the City Council may from time to time assign."
